Learn MoreSport, Private, and Commercial Pilot Flight Training in Van Nuys
Pick Your Rating
The Sport Pilot certificate was introduced in 2004 by the FAA to help rejuvenate general aviation and make it accessible to more people. The FAA cut the required amount of flight training necessary for this rating which drastically lowered the costs associated with becoming a pilot. Sport Pilots fly at the same standards as Private Pilots, but don’t require night training, and airspace privileges are provided via endorsements. Also, a Sport Pilot is not required to carry an FAA issued medical certificate; a valid US driver’s license will suffice in this case.
Since the inception of general aviation a Private Pilot rating has been the industry standard as the platform for new aviators to spread their wings and take to the skies. This certificate allows the holder to fly day or night under VFR conditions, (Visual Flight Rules), and without airspace restrictions.
In either case a well prepared student who studies and flies frequently can drastically reduce the amount of time, and therefore cost, associated with flight training.

About Us“High Flight”
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds, — and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of — wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov’ring there,
I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air . . .
Up, up the long, delirious burning blue
I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or ever eagle flew —
And, while with silent, lifting mind I’ve trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.
